| We study cascading failures on multi-type networks, where vertices are sequentially removed if they fail a monotone neighborhood-based rule (including the (k)-core as a special case). Using marked local-weak convergence, we characterize the asymptotic fraction of vertices that survive the cascade under a mild global condition. We introduce cascade-surviving cores and prove an “almost local” principle: survival is determined by the local limit under local convergence and diverging girth. As applications, we obtain sharp thresholds for cascades in random multi-type network models and show that multiple fragility points can occur. |
