»Optimizing sequences of Sobolev and Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequalities revisited«

Abstract:

We revisit the concentration-compactness principle due to P. L. Lions, and we present a new elementary proof of the relative compactness of optimizing sequences, up to symmetries, for the Hardy-Littlewood-Sobolev inequality, taking advantage of a simplified concentration-compactness lemma. The argument builds on a recent corresponding proof for the critical Sobolev inequality due to Charlotte Dietze and Phan Thành Nam.
