»Quantum graphs: from spectral geometry to heat geometry«

Abstract:
Metric graphs are networks obtained by gluing together intervals at their endpoints. Once a Laplacian is defined on such metric measure spaces, leading to the introduction of a so-called "quantum graph", it becomes natural to investigate its spectral properties. In this talk, I will give a gentle introduction to graph surgery techniques that provide bounds on eigenvalues in terms of combinatorial and geometric features. I will then turn to the heat kernel associated with the Laplacian, highlighting recent results on bounds for torsional rigidity and heat content.
