»A finiteness Theorem for Hyperbolic Groups«

Abstract:
We shall present in a simple way a finiteness theorem for the so-called δ-hyperbolic groups whose entropy is bounded from above. The core of the talk, in the spirit of a colloquium, will consist in giving all definitions and tools and then the heuristic of the proof of the main theorem. This is based on a joint work with G. Courtois, S. Gallot et A. Sambusetti.
