»Non-contractible closed geodesics on Finsler manifolds«

Abstract:
: In this talk, we consider the non-contractible closed geodesics on Finsler manifolds that are diffeomorphic to compact space forms. With suitable curvature conditions, we obtain several results on the multiplicity of non-contractible geodesics of the prescribed non-trivial homotopic class. For $C^\infty$ generic metrics, we also prove that there are infinitely many distinct closed geodesics on the Finsler manifolds. The connection between non-contractible closed geodesics and symmetric closed Reeb orbits shall be reviewed also.
