Abstract: |
The Toeplitz conjecture (a.k.a. the inscribed square problem or the square peg problem) is an open question that asks: Does every Jordan curve admit an inscribed square? The more general statement asks for arbitrary rectangles up to similarity. Assuming the Jordan curve is smooth, we will see how symplectic topology can help to solve the generalized Toeplitz conjecture in smooth case, and how Lagrangian Floer theory brings new insight to the problem. |
Hierzu ergeht herzliche Einladung. |
