»Grothendieck-Witt-theory of pushouts«

Abstract:
It is well known that K- and L-theory don't satisfy excision. That means the K- and L-groups of pushout rings, e.g. group rings of an amalgated products, don't fit into a Mayer-Vietoris style sequence. However, in many cases the failure to satisfy excision is measured in an error "Nil"-term. Another way to state this result is that the canonical colimit-exchange map (of K- and L-spectra) admits a left inverse. We will give an generalization of this result for Grothendieck-Witt-theory (among other related theories) in the setting of Poincaré-categories.
