»A Gysin exact sequence for Floer homology«

Abstract:
The Gysin exact sequence is a long exact sequence relating the homology of the total space of a sphere bundle and the homology of the base space. In this talk, I will introduce a version of the Gysin sequence which involves the Rabinowitz Floer homology of the total space of a circle bundle (and its symplectic filling) and the Floer homology of the base space. This Floer Gysin exact sequence allows one to compute the Rabinowitz Floer homology in various situations. Several other applications will also be discussed. This is joint work in progress with Joonghyun Bae and Jungsoo Kang.
