Variational problems involving nonlocal perimeter has been studied for a decade. In particular, minimizing nonlocal perimeter under some constraint has attracted many authors because of its application to other fields such as the Levy process, phase-transition problem, and so on. In this talk, we will focus on the shape of sets that minimize the nonlocal perimeter and see how different those sets are from ones that minimize the classical perimeter. We will show you what is known so far and present our recent example of sets minimizing the nonlocal perimeter, which can behave quite differently from the classical ones. This talk is partially based on joint work with Serena Dipierro and Enrico Valdinoci from the University of Western Australia. |
