»Recent developments in deformation quantization: convergence of star products«

Abstract:
In my talk I will give a gentle introduction to the basic concepts of formal deformation quantization with several illustrating examples, both from symplectic geometry and genuine Poisson geometry. New developments involve the convergence properties of the formal deformations. Here several classes of examples have been studied in the recent past. I will outline the results for cotangent bundles of Lie groups.
