»Removing singularities of mock bundles«

Abstract:
Generalising work by Eliashberg-Galatius-Mishachev, in this talk I will describe an alternative proof of the high-dimensional analogue of the Madsen-Weiss Theorem by Galatius-Randal-Williams. Key ingredients are an h-principle type result for fold maps based on the wrinkling theorem by Eliashberg-Mishachev, fold surgery techniques and a proof strategy by Nathan Perlmutter.
