»Triangulating metric surfaces«

Abstract:
In the talk I will discuss joint work with Matthew Romney on the existence of geometrically well behaved triangulations for metric surfaces. Our main result is that any geodesic metric space homeomorphic to a surface may be decomposed into non-overlapping convex triangles of small diameter.
