»Representations of the Kottwitz gerbes«

Abstract:
I am going to introduce the Kottwitz gerbes which are geometric objects defined over local and global fields. Their categories of representations are Tannakian categories that provide beautiful links between classical duality theorems of class field theory and well-known categories of isocrystals over local fields and the category of Drinfeld isoshtukas over global function fields. Although the case of number fields remains quite mysterious, several partial results about the structure of Rep(Kt_\mathbb{Q)} will be explained. Moreover, I will present a piece of evidence to Scholze's conjecture on the existence of a universal Weil cohomology theory for varieties over \bar{F}_p taking values in Rep(Kt_\mathbb{Q}).
