»The fiberwise tangent bundle of disk bundles: An example«

Abstract:
We show that the fiberwise tangent bundle of a smooth disk bundle over a disk (trivialized near the boundary in the base and the fiber) may be non-trivial, disproving a conjecture by Burghelea-Lashof. Joint work with D. Crowley and Th. Schick.
