»Automated Posture Analysis with Neural Networks: Relating Key Points of Persons with Objects in a Car«

Abstract:
The thesis discusses neural networks in a computer vision context. The theoretical part introduces common building blocks and elaborates, how derivatives of learn-able parameters in neural networks can be computed. A special focus lays on the ADAM algorithm and its convergence properties for convex and non-convex functions. The collaboration with Volvo Cars consisted of the development of a pipeline, which automatically tracks the occupant posture and shoulder belt position over time in a car.
