| For M a monoid, we will discuss the topos of sets with a right M-action. For example, we will translate geometric properties of this topos to algebraic properties of the monoid, and similarly we will relate properties of monoid morphisms to properties of the induced geometric morphisms. In the special case where M is a submonoid of a group, we talk about how to compute the points of the associated topos, and how to determine the subtoposes that are toposes of right N-actions for new monoids N. Most of the talk will be based on joint work with Morgan Rogers from Università degli Studi dell'Insubria in Como. |
