| In my talk I will first review the notion of quantum invariants of links and 3-manifolds, such as (colored) Jones polynomial and Witten-Reshetikhin-Turaev invariant. Then I will tell about some recent developments in the area and results, partly motivated by theoretical physics. In particular I will describe and give examples of new invariants of 3-manifolds valued in q-series with integer coefficients. In many examples the resulting q-series are false or mock modular forms that also play a role in number theory. |
