»On topological rigidity of Alexandrov spaces«

Abstract:
We will discuss several conjectures generalizing the Borel Conjecture for aspherical manifolds to the context of metric geodesic spaces with a synthetic notion of curvature bounded below, Alexandrov spaces. We will show how classiffication efforts via group actions, Gromov - Hausdorff convergence and ideas from Geometric Group Theory give evidence for these conjectures by proving some cases.
