»Singular Riemannian foliations and applications to positive and nonnegative curvature«

Abstract:
Isometric actions of compact Lie groups on Riemannian manifolds are examples of singular Riemannian foliatons. We will discuss the structure of the fundamental group the regular leaves of a closed singular Riemannian foliation on a compact, simply connected Riemannian manifold and focus on singular riemannian foliations whose leaves are homeomorphic to aspherical or to Bieberbach manifolds, generalizing isometric torus actons. I will then discuss the structure of these foliatons, their classificaton and some applicatons to nonnegatvely and positvely curved Riemannian manifolds. This is joint work with Marco Radeschi.
