»Circle actions and scalar curvature«

Abstract:
It is known that every manifold which admits an action of a compact connected non-abelian Lie group also admits a metric of positive scalar curvature. There are examples which show that this statement is not true for manifolds with actions of abelian Lie groups. We will construct metrics of positive scalar curvature on some manifolds with circle action.
