Abstract: |
The real locus of a symplectic manifold M is the fixed point set of an anti-symplectic involutive automorphism. Assume that a torus acts in Hamiltonian fashion on M, giving rise to a moment map. A theorem of Duistermaat (1983) says that if the involutive automorphism and the torus action are compatible in a certain sense, then the images of M, respectively the real locus under the moment map are equal, provided that M is compact. In my talk I will discuss generalizations of this result to the case when M is non-compact, which are due to Hilgert, Neeb, and Planck (1994) and, recently, to Jeffrey and myself. |
