The seminar concerns the proof, obtained in collaboration with Antonin Chambolle, that any function in GSBDp is approximated by functions in SBV, bounded, whose jump is a finite union of smooth hypersurfaces. The approximation takes place in the sense of Griffith-type energies, the study of which motivates the definition of the space GSBDp, and it is also in Lp outside a sequence of sets whose measure tends to 0. I will describe also how to apply this density result to deduce Γ-convergence approximation à la Ambrosio-Tortorelli for Griffith-type energies with either Dirichlet boundary condition or a mild fidelity term, such that minimisers are a priori not even integrable. |
