»Nonconnectedness of the space of Anosov metrics on a high dimensional manifold.«

Abstract:
A Riemannian metric on a manifold M is called an Anosov metric if its geodesic flow on the unit tangent bundle is of Anosov type. For example, every negatively curved metric is an Anosov metric. In this talk I will show that the space of Anosov metrics on a closed smooth manifold is either empty or has infinitely many path connected components, provided the dimension of M is greater than 9 and that M supports at least one Anosov metric without focal points.
