Fifth International Conference on Finite Fields and Applications August 2 - 6, 1999 University of Augsburg, Germany

Those wishing to contribute a 15 minute talk are asked to submit, by April 30, 1999, an abstract containing at most 300 words. The collection of accepted abstracts will be given to each participant at registration. A proceedings volume edited by D. Jungnickel and H. Niederreiter will be published as a hardcover book by Springer. All authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit a full paper for the proceedings; all contributions will be refereed according to strict standards, comparable to those of a first rate journal. The closing date for submitting papers to the conference proceedings will be November 1, 1999; the volume is scheduled to appear in the second half of 2000. Abstracts and papers should be written in LaTeX and submitted via e-mail.
